Who apart from Australia are actually any good

India - over hyped , failed in the last couple of ICC tournaments as well as losing ODI series in India to Aus
South Africa - love losing big matches in tournaments from the jaws of victory
New Zealand - make it to lots of semi finals but rarely win anything
Pakistan - Erratic
England - Win the ashes and don't do a lot else
Sri Lanka - produce lots of entertaining cricketers , but have lost the lost a couple of ICC finals
West Indies - have enough trouble just getting players on the pitch
Bangladesh - Huge cricket watching population, had test status for a few years, but lose to affiliate teams often

My point is ... no team in the last few years has actually been that consistent apart from Aus. They have lost a few series lately , but there record is still good.

Pakistan are an erratic team and losing matches and series like yesterday is disappointing. But making the finals of the last 2 T20 world cups , winning one and getting to semis of the champions trophy are a lot more memorable than a series in the UAE , which truth be told will be forgotten very soon.

Our test record is important though. Winning big Test series are memorable and are a real achievement.

Australia are the only consistent ODI team by a mile. No team is even close to them.

Australia and their second and third string teams shows strength in depth..

All the aforementioned do not have the strength in depth to cope with team that go at them at full pelt..

Pakistan after a long time have bowling riches but, lack the batting resources

India are batsmen orientated and their bowling lineup (backup) was wafer thin without Zaheer Khan

South Africa are the team to watch, remember they were No.1 longer than India

England are worth keeping an eye out for, their test team is formidable

NZ are limited in talent but unlimited with team ethics and motivation to succeed

South Africa are also very good ODI team at the moment but yes they have choked big time in ICC events. Otherwise in bilateral series, i think their recent record is pretty good and even better than AUstralia's (pls correct me if im wrong).

The thing with Pakistan lately is that we have started to perform better in ICC events (which is good) but in bilateral series, it seems we just give it away too easily and relax after just winning the first game of the series (it has happened atleast thrice this year that after taking the lead in a series against SL,AUS,NZ, we have managed to lose the series ).

Comparatively, England plays better test cricket than their ODI and T-20 cricket. But it doesn't mean they are any good test team.

all the teams (minus Bangla/Wi/Eng) are fairly even right now, it just depends on the day. australia rank a bit higher just because of their mental toughness

but with the other teams i don't think there has been a time in history where there have ever been so many erratic superstars

afridi, razzaq, sehwag, gambir, malinga, jayasuria, gibbs, de villers, white, warner, KP, flintoff, gayle, ashraful, etc

one of these guys has "their" day and you better watch the **** out
