PakPassion Presents an Exclusive Interview with Saeed Bin Nasir (Questions Thread)

I'm delighted to announce that we will be interviewing Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC) skipper Saeed Bin Nasir in the next couple of weeks.

Saaed's domestic record is one of the best in Pakistani cricket with a highly impressive 18 centuries and 33 half centuries and an average of over 42, spanning 11 years in domestic cricket.

Remarkably Saeed has never been chosen by the Pakistan selectors. The closest he came to selection for the national team was in 2003/04 when he was part of the squad for the first two tests against Bangladesh, but he never made it into the final XI in either test.

Usual PakPassion format, add your questions in this thread and we'll select the best 20 or so questions for Saeed.

Being a veteran of Pakistani FC cricket, what measures do you think should be taken to improve the quality/standard of Pakistani domestic cricket?

Saeed, your first class record is excellent and you have batted in the middle order throughout your career. However over the years you have had to compete against Younus Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Inzamam, Misbah ul Haq which was a tough proposition, did you ever think of becoming an opening batsman to have a better chance of a regular spot in the Pakistan team?

Why in your mind did you never play for Pakistan?

What do you make of Younus Khan's resignation and the whole episode that followed?

Player power is something that is a plague in Pakistan cricket. Have you ever come across this sort of thing in your career?

Were you approached by the ICL, if so, why did you turn it down?

How hard is it to maintain your motivation playing domestic cricket when you've got a great record yet you're not even in the conversation? Does anyone from the PCB maintain contact with good players like yourself?

We see guys like Wajahatullah Wasti lose hope and with that lose fitness.

How would you describe your batting style? Are you a naturally aggressive batsman or someone who relies on technique and timing to score runs?

How are you able to continue pursuing cricket as a career when you've been toiling away in the domestic circuit for years and see other players, who have accomplished significantly less than you, get a chance but you don't?

Does the current domestic set-up provide strong incentives to cricketers allowing them to concentrate only on the game?
What are your plans after you retire?
Why do you think you were never selected for Pakistan?
What is the best complement you have recieved from a cricketer on your batting?

You were part of Pakistan squad against Bangladesh back in 03 under Rashid captaincy, Why were you left from the squad afterwards? Did any selector gave you any reason? Were you selected in the team because of Rashid insistence?

How hopeful are you to get into pakistan team now?

You have a cool name. Who in your family come up with this name?

I think the way you have been named (PersonName bin FatherName) is better than (PersonName FatherName). Do you agree?

Do you feel as if you are ostracised from the national team or are the selectors still in touch ?

How has been the average pitch been this season (flat, sporting, seaming) and are they different than last year? Which venue has been the best to play in and which ones have been most challenging.

The player(s) you have seen this domestic season who have impressed you?
