Title fight

OK it here, Australia V Pakistan.

All you weak hearted people stand aside this is real cricket, Australia are playing to win and they will hit you with everything they have so be warned. This is what you have been waiting for.

Put your name here if you are prepared for a no holds barred rough and tough battle of men. There is to be no sooking or crying about the umpires, no complaining that Watson is being mean, no whining about some obscure 50/50 decision.

Who has the heart for battle and who has hold of mums apron.

As long as the bans and fines are equal and not one sided like they were in the recent tests between the AUssies and Windies.

I am all for the sledging, eye stares, physical confrontation if the consequences are the same for both.

No one complains about Watson's antics. The problem arises when he gets away with he does and similar offenses from our side result in bans.

I agree that Aussies will throw everything they have on us. They are number 3 test team in the world now and they are hurt.

Well we're only playing the 3rd best team in the world, so it won't be a major acheivement when we beat 'em.

Jokes aside, I'm really looking forward to the confrontation. To see how the Pakistani youngsters handle the pressure of touring Oz and to see how good the Aussies batsmen really are.

This is a great opportunity for the young Pakistani pace attack to test itself. NZ wickets were juiced up and its batsmen are weak, so its hard to read too much into the pacers performance there.

Australia, regardless of the XI it fields, will give us a good indication of the true strength of this young Pakistani team. Pakistan must manage at least 300-350 in its first innings. For this, the openers and Mohd Yusuf must lead the way. Kaneria wont be much of a factor in Melbourne or Hobart, as the Aussies are better players of spin than NZ.

Pakistans team dynamics will be tested here, they need to pull together as a unit if they want to challenge the Aussies. This will be the key, your fielders need to back the bowlers and the middle order need to build partnerships.

Well obviously, like every other series being played, the series will be 'exciting' and 'worth a watch' of course.

And I don't know why the people are being overly-optimistic here. Come on guys, think realistic. We're playing Australia here, not the West Indies or England. We'll be lucky to even win a single game. Remember, Australia is just about the toughest beast to kill at home - and they're even better in Test matches, where they rule.

I really don't know why some people (not taking any names) are saying 'oh lol we'll thrash you by an innings and give australia the beating of their life' etc etc etc.
IT WON'T HAPPEN.

Good luck getting reverse out here.

And you might recall was mostly Pakistan umpires who reported your spinner.

This Australian team is there for the taking. They were struggling to get a very poor WI side out twice. I just hope the Pakistani boys realise that!

If they do then Fish will find himself in deeper water than he realised.
The Akmal brothers are going to be stars of the series.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the series Australia took every single WI wicket, they took 20 wickets every game and the WI did not take 20 wickets in any game.

4 times out of 6 WI scored over 300 runs, including 400+ once. This against is a pretty weak WI batting lineup. Australia of yesteryear would have gobbled up this line up with minimum of fuss.
Now I am not saying Pakistani batting is anything to write home about but as a team they have more match winners than the WI.

No thanks, I believe in equality. If I see something that is not fair, I am going to call it.

I remember in 2004 when Akthar gave Hayden a light send off and he got fined, all because Hayden had that face that he was about to cry.

I give credit when credit is due, and am not like team India with my charter jet ready to go. But I will point out anytime I see any inequality.

Looks like Waqar is in as well:

Fans want aggressive cricket: Waqar
By Paul Carter 174 AEST Mon Dec 21 2009

Pakistan team bowling coach Waqar Younis says fans want to see aggressive cricket, so long as it is not "dirty".

With Australian captain Ricky Ponting cracking down on on-field behaviour in the wake of sanctions meted out to three of his players in Perth, Waqar said his tourists were here to play positive cricket in their looming three-Test series.

The pace bowling great said he could see things were heating up between the Aussies and the West Indies players during the third Test at the WACA.

"In a way it is nice to see because you want to see aggressive cricket, and you want to see positive cricket and people wanting to win the game," he said during Pakistan's warm-up game in Hobart.

"As long as it is not dirty, that is what you to want to see.

"I don't mind our boys getting out there and taking the other teams on."

Ponting says his team will be counselled about their behaviour in Perth before meeting Pakistan in the series beginning on Boxing Day at the MCG.

With Shane Watson, Brad Haddin and Mitchell Johnson all fined for bringing the game into disrepute in Perth, Ponting has made no attempt to mask his displeasure with the ugly behaviour, saying he is "not proud" of it.

Paceman Doug Bollinger was given an official reprimand for kicking the pitch in the drawn Adelaide Test.

So will pointing out help or will actually fighting them do? What did WI get by pointing out against the ban for Benn? Brownie point? I dont like BCCI for a lots of thing but stading up to Bucknor was one of the best things they ever did

I don't have high hopes for this series...I will take a lowly and closely fought out 3-0 result in Pak's favor rather than an 'out of this world beating' for the Aussies by our team:-)

Seriously though, a drawn series would be good enough for me with one win and a loss for Pak team and the third a close draw!

Even more respect to man who will be sitting in South Australia playing giggle competition while his nation gets beaten up in Test cricket a short plane flight away.

Shahid is a prince.

He does as he pleases. As he damn well pleases. He has little time for trivial matters- look, his hair needs tending to. He'll play the game of cricket as a hobby as and when he chooses to.

You know you look into the eyes of a man of royal descent.

Hopefully the events of the last series will have shamed the Ozzies into behaving a bit more decently this series.

But I don't know .. if they start feeling pressure the same old tactics will come out.

And have no doubt, he'll be there for the heavyweight championship of the world.

If not in the Test arena, then definitely prowling around in the ODI's and T20's. And he shall exchange grooming tips with Watson.

I'm glad the Aussies have fired up. I want them to do everything they can to upset Pakistan. And I hope Pakistan have the nerve to take it back to the Aussies.

Lets hope we dont get to many soft pansys complaining that we play to hard for them.

Aussies stretching boundaries is fine so long as they don't cry foul when others do the same.

Pakistanis can say what ever they want in english but if they dare sledge them in urdu or punjabi it will be interpreted as racist.

I see it as a positive as some of our players getting sledged won't have clue *** the Aussies are saying so will have very little impact on them especially umar and aamer.

Aussies are real good sportsmen when they are in controll.. All cordial and nice .. Once they start to get in a loosing postion that is where there true personalities come out...
I personally think this Pak team is the most well behaved and non aggerisve team on the field in world cricket at the moment without Akhtar and Lala...I dont care if they behave softly on the field as long as they let there cricket do the talking..

He would be thinking job well done ater getting the batsman swinging and then Johnson swoops in and wicket number 5.

I'm sure it was in Ponting's plans to just put Siddle out there as canon fodder and get utterly demoralised by a 19 year old.
