Quickfire 50 & a 100 needed from the AKmal brothers here. I maybe being a bit harsh here but that is what is needed for Pak to be back in the game no less...........

true you are right. Though he did get the Windies in double quick time in the first innings then, something like 50 or 60 overs...if we get out that quickly, he might do the same, but not likely at all IMHO

I also hoped it when I left home 10 minutes before the end of play, just checked on BB Moyo is out. This is a huge loss to Pakistan. Only if they had not got bogged down they could have been 210/4 which looks much better. Lets hope Misbah and Akmals can save this game for us. We need to bat all day tomorrow inshaallah just like 3rd test in NZ.

Tbh, we are screwed. 109/4 is an awful position chasing 454. Plus with our best batsman out, its going to be doubly difficult to put anything substantial on the board

That Siddle over at the end was frightening

I think Ponting has already decided that Paistan will bat last in this match, thats why he declared early. His plan looks like he wants Yousuf to have to make decisions instead of just sitting back thinking he can play for the draw.

After watching Chris Gayle and co earn the adulation of the Aussie public for their fighting spirit etc, it's demoralising to see Pakistan play like a bunch of amateurs. Very average team selection, pathetic fielding and defensive batting ... what a let down.

Just woke up to see Another collapse in the making. What is even more pathetic is the run rate, a score of 160-4 would not be so bad.

This is the problem with MOYO and INTI, they are just pure defensive minded people - justLooking to survive, A method that almost never works for Pakistan.

The problem is that they go from one extreme to the next. Either they'll play super defensively or try and hit everything out of the park and neither of these approaches helps the cause too much.

I think unless afridi is the captain, and pakistan don't drop their best bowler just like that(Danish Kaneria). Pakistan need positive mind set like Imran's era then you'd have a team that could compete with the best of the best

Well the great Peter Siddle strikes the blow of the day, removing Pakistan's best batsman on the stroke of stumps. All hail.

Watson's spell was really good, I thought he would be a batsman who bowls occasionally but he is showing more nous and improvement in his bowling that I thought.

Excellent day for Australia, not good for Pakistan.

That's the issue though - we DO know. People like to say we are "inconsistent". Maybe our bowling is, sometimes we take wickets, other times we don't. However, our batting is wonderfully consistent - its consistently poor! And same goes for our catching - consistently pathetic

Even if Umar Akmal gets a hundred , it'll be job well done but a 200 would also do fine , Insh'Allah both Akmal's will get hundreds . A 50 + from Misbah , seems a tough task but Insh'Allah he'll do it . Amir might chip in with a 30 or 40 , Rauf knows well how to hold a bat and could contribute 20 or more odd runs . I hope they all get big scores but............It seems impossible to even get close to that 450 target at the moment , so they gotta aim lower , 350 perhaps and hope they can get all 10 wickets in the second innings in quick time .

Indeed this is Pak , The Unpredictability and Umar Akmal's batting is the only thing keeping me interested in this match right now .

Aah well...no harm in being optimistic, but after being optimistic 3,652 times and getting disappointed, also good to be reasonable in one's expectations when it comes to our cheetay batsmen - that way, if pigs are indeed flying about and other miracles happen, and most shockingly, we do bat well, then it all comes as a wonderfully pleasant surprise

Man.... I hear ya . Lately we have been quite predictable in collapses , but I got trust in Umar Akmal to get us through . No harm in being optimistic , right . As much I try to avoid watching these matches , being a true cricket fan drags me back to watch it .

I am not going to disturb my sleep for a few darpoke batsmen to make a fool of our cricket!

I usually get up round 7:00 in the morning, check the score on my BB - if its worth watching, switch on the TV - if not, go back to sleep.

Sad as it may sound, this is the situation with Pak cricket now.

Dont worry, inshallah Aamir will make them pay, like Huritz made us, but on the other hand we could have also sent in Abdur Rauf, he can bat.

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't there some sorta rule that its stumps if a wicket falls in the last over of the day? Why was Aamer asked to come out and face a ball before calling it a day?

Because Australia wasn't even close to fulfilling their quota for the day.

Well that's what the commentators said anyway.

yeah i think 2.1 overs left in the day when yousuf got out, thats why they remained in the ground for one delivery and took two overs off because yousuf's dismissal took a long time. something along those lines happened.
