2nd 0di Points

I am gonna start creating a point system now.. .so that all those people who are thinking our team is really good and world-beater and we just are unlucky, see the actual efficiency of the team after every match

Today
Butt 0
No catch, bowled nothing, got out on nothing
Kamran 1
kept wickets, got run out stupidly on 16
Younus 0
nothing
Umar Akmal 0
did nothing
Shoaib Malik 1
took two catches which would have been dropped by every other player sans Afridi
Shahid Afridi 5
i thought he bowled beautifully and put brakes on Australia from reaching 300
Yousaf 6
Took two catches, scored a 50, and got most of the decisions related to captaincy correct except that horror of bowling first
Aamir 5
Took 3 wickets, didn't trouble with new ball or would get more points, bowled nicely at end
Gul 0.5
Took a catch and bowled horribly
Rana 1
Made some runs but bowled badly on a pitch suiting fast bowlers
Ajmal 5
He did his job. Bowled adequately

Now tell me if our top 5 batsmen do nothing in the game... And you call this team World-BEATERS...
Prepare for some more embarrasment

your point system is not based on how they performed to what they are "asked to do"

everyone needs to field... and shoaib malik is an allrounder.... enough said.

he performed well.. its a shame he got out... it was a good catch by ponting. yes he shoulve kept it down.. but him and moyo were doing the right thing in getting their eye in...

Bottom line, we can't chase anything. Playing under light when the ball swings was never going to work for our batsman. It may have helped out spin bowlers but we will always get out under 200 in these conditions.

Saeed Ajmal should have more points because he done the job with the bowl.

YK should be given less numbers. You have given him too much.

Kamran runout was MoYo mistake (Kami isn't the first victim of MoYo's) as commentrator rightly said "Kami had to return from half-way, had they run it would have been a simple single"

So Kami shud get 3 for keeping (had to keep close for 24 overs) and 2 for his innings
Total 5.

2 scores should be deducted from MoYo for getting him run out.

Butt got the correct numbers from you.
But I think Umer deserved 1 number for his face expressions.

Now about Shoaib Malik.

I know fan react when their favorite player doesn't perform to their expectations.

I'll give him 2 each for both catches, even afridi would have dropped one of those. But I'd deduct a point for missing run out, so net 3 for fielding alone.

If Ajmal can get 5 for his off spin, then SM deserves 2 for his 4 overs (SR was is same range). Net 2 for bowling.

I'll give 1/2 point for each run, so Net 1 point for batting.

Fair and Honest Grand Net : 3+2+1 = 6

Younis showed good energy on the field - it was a welcome change to see that.

His dismissal was a direct result of the extremely poor start our two openers gave us - which was absolutely atrocious ODI batting. Still can't believe Imran Nazir isn't in the side.

I would take a couple of points away from MoYo and give it to Rana. MoYo not only got the toss decision wrong, but he also got the bowling order wrong. It should have been Rana bowling the new ball spell with Aamir and not Gul. I believe Rana's figures may have turned out better if he was given the new ball and us having to chase 30 fewer runs perhaps (not that it would have mattered probably).
