Time for some radical changes..

The last two series have been a major joke and embarrasment. We need some major changes an a shake up of how cricket is set up in Pakistan.

1st.. Get rid of Ijaz Butt: I blame the terrorist attacks on Sri Lanka on him. had he provided presidential security then we would still be playing home matches. His current regime is a laughing stock. We need to get rid of this system where we do each other favours. We need to adopt an English style system were the relationships at the top of the hierarchy are purely professional and not personal.

2. Players need to be paid more money too keep up with all the other countries in the world. Currently our players are only motivated by financial incentive. (most recent IPL) i believe younger players like Alam, Akmal and Aamer are performing well because at they are gettin paid money that not many young people can boast about. Let them get older they will be wanting more turn to other means.

3, We need to cast and iron fist on players who are involved in controversial moments. This will set the example to the rest of the country and build back some pride. Afridi after today should be handed with a 6 month ban at minimum as this is not his first offence. I dont care what people say to justify it it cant be , he played against the ethics of the game.

4. We need to get rid of players who are hanging around i.e moyo or younus khan if they fail to deliver. Adopt a policy on players who are not performing before discarding them. i.e monitor their performances and then similarly as jayasuria the selection committee should impose a pplicy where he has to perform in 1 out of 3 games . The player should then go back to domestic and prove him self before selection. but be before a line of other top performers.

5. the seniority bull needs to be scrapped and players must learn to respect their captain and listen to him rather than listen to their older team mates. dont get me wrong there should be respect for those but the captain must have the last say. therefore any blame would be put on the captain and not team 'unity'. i think education should be important here. rather than just given a worthy player captainship he should attend leadership courses in where he can be able to make correct decisions and understand how to run a team.

6. the team should have one bowling, batting, fielding/physical trainer and not 2 or 3.

i believe these basics can help pakistan in the long run.

what you guys reckon.. add your own..

On this site we are constantly coming up with ideal management staffs, best playing XI's, best potential captains, etc. At some points it can be nothing but frustrating because the lone fan is truly powerless to invoke change on his/her own. Even Kamran Abbasi's plea for change via Facebook died pretty fast. It seems like this is the only alternative vs. sulking after a horrid series, but at times I think sulking is just necessary.

However with that said, the chief selector did in fact resign so we can debate a replacement for him! Sohail IMO. Now that Zia isn't in charge we don't have to worry about Junaid being selected. ;)
