Bid to hijack PIA flight foiled - Birmingham PIA

ISLAMABAD: Air Security Force arrested two suspect to foil a bid to hijack Birmingham bound flight of Pakistan International Airlines here at Islamabad airport. ASF men found two knives from secret pocket of shoes of a man identified as Azhar Iqbal. The arrested men on questioning disclosed that he wanted to hijack the airliner. The security men arrested another person on indication of Azhar. The security personnel conducted thorough search of the aircraft bound to fly Birmingham.

Now supposedly, that's someone i know of Small Heath.

Any news regarding this alleged hijacker in the local area ?

Wow .. a week ago it was a plot against the Lahore PC and now this.

...the person arrested is a very close cousin of mine...thankfully, he has now been released. He recently went back home to get married, nothing more....im surprised this did'nt make news in the UK.

If what you're saying is true then your cousin almost certainly has grounds to take libel action against the news channel for public defamation of his good character (or something along those lines).

Misleading reports like that can have a damaging impact on someones life, he should pursue it if they are wrong, if not for the financial compensation but to clear his good name.
