Australian warning to Pak. Team

Australian chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns says the world No.1 side's next big target is winning a third straight World Cup in 2007.

Speaking from Pakistan, where he is overseeing Australia A's tour, Hohns told AFP that after the loss of the Ashes to England, selectors are already looking ahead.

"I suppose winning the 2007 World Cup is a challenge now," Hohns said. "Australia won the last two Cups, so it would be nice to win three in a row and we consider the timing is right now for us to start juggling our side and that we will be doing."

But while England regained the Ashes for the first time since surrendering the crown in 1989, Hohns added that he doesn't believe the series defeat signals the end of an era for Australian cricket.

"I don't agree. We have been beaten by England, who are a very, very good side which Pakistan will see very soon," Hohns said ahead of England's upcoming tour of Pakistan.

"The future of Australian cricket is very strong. We may not win all the time; sooner or later you had to lose because others have been trying to come up to the Australian level and, maybe, some of them have reached that mark."

I think Hohns has seen something to make a comment like that, mayb a weakness in Inzi's technique that might come up against English bowlers.

Or a disorganised Pakistan camp.

perhaps he was getting a bit annoyed with the Pakistani journalists constantly baracking him about Aussie loss of form so he just said 'you will see how good england are' to shut the idiot up. If I was a Pakistani cricketer I would be as cold and rude as possible to Pakistani journalists because that is all they deserve.

All modern journalist deserve that. They show you no respect at all. In fact it is the rudest job.

I agree with Hash here, he just mentioned Pakistan becuase Pakistan is the next side to play England, nothing about Pak being bad just that pak is the next tour. He woould have said the same thing if England were going to India or Sri Lanka or any other nation. All he meant to say that England are a good side and people are reading too much into it.
