What is going to be a 'par score' in the Caribbean?

So what is going to be a 'baseline' total? We saw in last years tournament where wickets had a bit in them for the bowlers and it was the reason that the better bowling attacks like Pakistan, SL, SA got so far. Often a score of 150ish would set up a good game.
Contrast this to the first edition in SA where scores were closer to 200 with the better bowling attacks being able to defend around 160.

This time,the matches will be played at 3 grounds;

_____
At the Kensington Oval, Barbados, only one T20I game has been played where Australia reached 97 inside 11 overs (8.81rpo) in a reduced game and WI subsequently chased the score scoring 102 in just 9.1 overs (11.12rpo)

The average rpo in an ODI game is 4.87 which suggests fairly friendly batting conditions.
_____

_____
No T20Is have yet taken place at the Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia.

In ODIs the average rpo is a sizable 5.11 so it could be hard work containing there.
_____

_____
No T20Is at the Providence Stadium in Guyanna.

ODIs rpo is the lowest of the three at 4.80.
_____

Pakistan's two group games are to be played at St Lucia.

160 is good total on any pitch if you have good bowling attack .chasing 8 run per over is always going to be pressure on batting team .

Forget the averages in ODIs and previous stats:

Even 190 is not secure score anymore, be it in Caribbean or Pakistan, but the warm-up matches will give us some indications if they are played on some of these three grounds.

When Windies made 200+ in the first World T20 against SA I never thought SA would have chased that down, but they did. It was a good wicket, SA had good batsmen, windies poor bowlers but still you back windies to win that match because of the huge total.

On which ground did Lara score his famous 400? Could they make belters back then, they can do it again, and BCCI will ensure they do that.

Didn't the Windies drop many catches that day? Quite a few off Herschelle Gibbs aswell?

Well going by the warm up games these wickets are low, slow and a 'par' score will be nowhere near 160. More like 140ish.

I predict a very boring WC compared to the one in England, am I the only one?

No one wants to see ugly and dusty pitches for a T20 match. I remember the pitch in Guyana from the 2007 WC, it was CRAP! Spinners choking batsman, it was horrible to watch. Who wants to see spinners take the new-ball? NO ONE!

People want to see fast-bowlers take the new-ball, bowl at pace, hurry the batsman, break their stumps in two. The pitches should be hard and bouncy, so batsman also can play their shots. Equal contest.

I am all for bowling-friendly pitches, I am sick of the crappy IPL-like pitches where everyone is hitting sixes. But I don't want the pitches to be bowling-friendly if the spinners are going to choke the batsman on dustbowls.

Most wickets in W.I are very slow and low and pretty difficult for Batting.

I think totals of 150-60 will be the par for more games.

Speak for yourself.

We Indian fans would love it. Because the alternative is opening the bowling with Nehra and Kumar

I think the wickets will be sluggish and quite difficult to bat on.

Overall I think scores will be lower than in England last year, perhaps around the 140-150 mark.

Judging by some of the warm up games totals maybe even lower.

Have to say i got a feeling this WC will be as rubbish as 50 over WC in 2007.

Any score around 150 would be compatitive if your bowling is strong. Spinners are going to play major role.

130-150 would be more then enough. The scores have been low in the practise games imagine what would happen when the pitches have been used 3/4 times.

150 could be defended by the better bowling attacks. I think when the tournament steps up a gear and teams have taken these warm ups on board a score of around 160 to 170 will probably be a decent one.
