Pakistan U19 In Matches With Regional Sides and "A" Side 2010

First matchday was played today and Pakistan U19 beat both the local regional side and the "A" side.

Azeem Ghumman scored 56 off 45 balls and 40 off 21 balls to be named as MOM in both games

The next version is on the 13th April followed by 16th, 19th and 22nd.

Two matches to be played on each day like today. First Pak U19 will play the regional side and the winner of that game takes on Pak "A" in the afternoon!

More details to follow...

U19 beat Pakistan A? And Ghumman scoring better than run a ball is a good positive surprise! Really wana know the quality of bowlers though

The U19 team will play 5 matches at the minimum with a possible 10 matches if they keep beating the regional sides! I would like to set a target of winning 8 matches for them!

So far they have already won 2 games!Keep up the good work the stars of tomorrow!

Our young players are playing far too much twenty20 cricket they will pick up bad habits along the way. We need to groom them to play test cricket!

16/4/10@Hyderbad

Match 1:http://www.pcboard.com.pk/Pakistan/S...89/289401.html

Match 2:http://www.pcboard.com.pk/Pakistan/S...89/289402.html

Azeem Ghumman scoring 50s in both games stood out!! Pakistan U19 won against Hyderbad but lost against the brilliance of Sharjeel Khan in the following game. He scored a formidable 121* for the "A" side!!

Out of 5 games played so far Pakistan U19 have won 3.

They now travel to Islamabad for the next round of matches on the 19th.

Azeem Ghumman has been the real performer so far.

Hmm I dunno why they are playing so many t20s these days ? last time I checked there was no U19 t20 worldcup and after Younis and Yousuf debacle we badly need a test class batsman.

Sharjeel Khan is only 20.
His 121 runs came of just 59 balls with 8 sixes. Looks like we have another beast there. Alhamdulillah talent keep coming through.

They are wasting time with T20 circus. U19 level is to groom players for the future, not make fishermen who will only play with one mode. It's good to see players like Ghumman performing, but toil those boys hard in 4 day games and see who stands out.
