Good to lose first

Come on guys, I know we were really close to winning the 1st match, but look at Pakistan, if we are to win a tournament we need to lose the 1st match.

Even though you guys are upset of another dust-biter, where we've come so close yet been so far, you need to be used to this by now. If you are really upset head over and watch Brazil-Korea.

Remember: This is only the beginning, and a good one when you look at Pakistan cricket.

LOL @ this thread. Heard it all before. Whatever you want to say to comfort you I guess.

Pakistan have lost about 8 ODIs on the trot now, is that good too? I mean the luck is bound to change right?

definitely not good to lose and in such a heart breaking fashion. however the positives out of this game have been afridi leading by example, successful return of akhtar, and trying out new blood (for better or for worse).

had great hopes for this team and i still do but you have the feeling that with akmal failing (both keeping and his batting), butt dropping catches, malik (not doing anything special), and more one man shows, it's the same old story. but lets hope for the best with this team.

I don't really believe in the 'slow starters' nonsense, but I'm definitely not demoralized by one loss. Yes, we've lost a few matches on the trot but we are, by no means, a team you can just brush aside. We showed that by how we fought back today after losing four early wickets. At least we didn't just throw it away. We fought it till the last ball

Well our first priority now is to beat India in the next match.

If we win that then we have to simply trash Bangladesh to strengthen our net runrate.

Problem is that Afridi will not play a blinder in every match - this was once in a blue moon and we should have taken this gift with both hands !

So are you saying we're out of the tourney now? How so? If we beat both India and BD, and India also loses to SL, then how are we out? This was the first match of the tourney, how do you figure we're out after losing the first match when the whole tournament has to be played out still?

If top 4 batsmen had scored 60-70 runs all together and if those 2 big run outs were not happened we would had won it easily, both were stupid run outs.....not even a run.....inshallah we will come back stronger against india, their confidence will be shattered as they lost with humilation to zim not once but twice so its a must win game for us and if we won against india then there is no stopping pakistan this time inshallah. im sensing a sri vs pak final

in such a tourney, it is a very big ask to bounce back after losing the first game...even if we beat India, it might come down to NRR and head-to-head record.

Based on the strength of current India Pakistan teams, Pakistan should beat India comfortably IMO but in India/Pak clashes you never really know since they are so much high pressure games!
