MMA PARTY - Is it a move into the future or a move back into the stone age

The MMA goverment in the NWFP is a shambles. All they do is criticise and criticise. The tactics that the MMA have used in recent months like the races organised by the human rights campaigners have been despicable, whatever happened to civilised society. It seems the MMA have forgot a few islamic morals themselves when it has come to dealing with people. No where does it say you can attack people with sticks and stones for running together, they should have used the tongue rather than the fist. Do the people here on pakpassion agree or disagree that to have this party control pakistan would be a disaster or a new age for pakistan. No one wants a corrupt party that claims to be islamic, into power. Who agrees and who disagrees?

yes suhaib , we have already seen how ur wonderful mind works, typically from the example u gave on how pakistan stands to profit from this earthquake. before shaming ur self by saying that didnt u see the plight of the ppl suffering in those areas?

so if anything u should be the last person discussing the economy of pakistan.or discussing anything of substance for that matter. if you do decide to tell us something brutally honestly, do tell us how old are u ? and what medications are u on ?

They dont have a main leader. MMA is more of a collaboration of all the major religious political parties. Jamiat (Head Qazi) Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Head Fuzal-ur-Rehman) and a host of different ones. They wont be in power. Musharraf needed them in the last election to create a threat for the West to keep the support( we have crazy mullahs getting in power back me up and I'll take care of them). I dont think they have any future in power in Pakistan. Dont worry bout them too much. Government in Pakistan need them just like US needs "Evil power that wants to destroy the US" to scare people. Thats all they are and thats all they will ever be.

The MMA people is a party that dont even deserve to be called a party, it is a disgrace to the great nation of pakistan, have asnyone heard anything in the news about them actually contributing to the effort to help people? probably not, as they are busy criticising the government. thank you

where the hell did mqm come into this?...i'd have neither party...both are the same thing...trying to consolidate power...villifying the government in power...both right wing in ideology...always looking for conflict...and no bias here, i'm also urdu-speaking...i prefer the current gov't...

Thanks for the reply, that disproved my point then that the MMA isnt doing anything to help in the current climate, thank you anyway for raising that point. But still, in general the question to be answered is that can the MMA be a viable party that will get elected into government. On the point of saying the MMA have contributed each a months salaries, are there any other news articles about them helping the sick and injured, i mean in a recent news article via reuters, we have sikh members helping members of the pakistani community, yet i dont see the MMA pulling their finger out on the ground where it matters, especially as they criticise the musharaff government so much, they should take the initiative if they are sincere. thank you

Also, pakistan is an islamic republic and under islamic guidance principles, jews and christians are supposed to be given some rights and protection under the islamic state, can we also see this happening under the MMA, probably not, probably more persecution in a time when the nation needs to be held together

To call the MMA stone age would be an insult to the stone age. These people are an absolute disgrace to humanity. They are very good at opposing and rallying the uneducated masses into taking part in demonstrations about a religion column in the passport but since they have come to power in NWFP, have they done anything that would improve the life of the common man? Anything related to education? health? Nothing is the answer. All they ever do is say 'islam this , islam that' when what they really mean is they just want Pakistan to just be Saudi Arabia but without the oil.

In fact, they even opposed Musharaf's plan to put in free literacy centres for the kids of poor people because they said it would take the children away from their maddrassas.

Wahabbis. I hope they completely disintegrate in the next election. I know a few people in Peshawar and according to them, people are beginning to get sick and tired of them. Because they talk a lot, but they have not actually done anything. Inshallah they will get booted out for good in the next election. Then Fazl ur Rehman saab can go on a crash diet because he certainly needs one.

I bet they eat and use western imported food and products. Anyway don't know too much about Maulana Fazl ur Rehman but that Qazi Hussain is disgraceful for trying to score political points over the earthquake..taking advantage of such a sad natural disaster for humanity and Pakistan.. Worse of all Qazi Hussain said that we shouldn't take aid from American and the West because its against Islam or something like that. What a disgrace.

I hate their political views. Although most religious groups and ulama have said that religious movements in Pakistan should stay away from politics, I do not agree with that as well.

I do believe that Islam is a complete religion and in order to create an Islamic state you need religious political parties. But MMA is not even close to what I would vote for.
