PPL 6 | Bolan Bravehearts v Punjab Panthers | Match 15

Bolan are almost out of the running now - they simply cannot manage to snatch a win. In fact they have done really well in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory lately. They will most definitely require a win or they can kiss any hopes goodbye. Punjab are cruising on top - undefeated. They look like sure shot favourites at this point in time. Can Bolan knock them down? We shall find out.

The match will be taking place in Bolan - Ayub National Stadium.

**Managers please post your final XIs - Bolan please post your pitch type as well.**

Also, a side note. If you edit your final XI - please let me know in this thread, otherwise I will use the final XI you posted first.

Hello and welcome to this exciting match between Bolan and Punjab – best vs. worst. Rameez Raja, our man down in the middle, has made it all the way over to wicket and says there's quite a lot of cloud cover there, as there has been over the past few days, which will help the ball swing. "The weather is mild but we've been having afternoon showers this week so there's a chance that could happen again," he adds.

The pitch looks decent, but might move around a tad here and there. A few scruff marks near the batting crease. Might be a bit damp underneath the surface, reckons Robin Jackman. Its a consistent track, however, looking pretty even all the length down.

"A good start for the Ayub national stadium ... the electronic scoreboard has crashed before a ball has been bowled," says Rameez Raja. "At least it makes a change from sightscreens not working."
Here come the umpires players. Mohsin walks out along with iHammad who receives a healthy cheer.. There is a huge crowd in to witness this match.

0.6 Gilmour to Inswinger, FOUR, smacked for four! Gilmour holds back the length this time and Inswinger swivels on the pull, in a flash, and picks the gap behind square leg, what a cracking shot from him.

3.1 Gilmour to Mohsin, FOUR, super shot, Mohsin comes onto the front foot and gets to the pitch of this one, just pushing through the line and picking the gap a cover, and the fast outfield does the rest.

4.3 Elliott to Mohsin, FOUR, strays onto the pads and thats disdainfully flicked past square leg for four

End of over 10 (13 runs)
PUNJAB PANTHERS 70/0
(R/R: 7.00)
Jacques Kallis 2.0-0-22-0
Inswinger 24(24b 1X4 1X6)

13.5 Flintoff to Mohsin, OUT, stunning catch! And i mean stunning! Flintoff pitches it just back of a length outside off stump, Mohsin opens the face and tries to steer the ball away but thats a brilliant effort from the fielder at gully, diving horizontal to his right and plucking the ball with one outstretched hand, then tumbling to the ground before his team-mates and the fortunate bowler mob him.

Mohsin 53 (48b 7X4 1X6)
c. Elliott b. Flintoff

16.1 Clarke to Malik, FOUR, banged in short on the stumps and Malik opens his account with a controlled short-arm jab past the fielder at midwicket, a very positive shot that

19.5 Elliott to Inswinger, OUT,edged and taken, and the moving ball does the trick! Terrific delivery and good catch by CD at second slip, Elliott delivers after the errant wide with one pitched up, straightening, and luring a tentative Inswinger into a fatal push which is well snapped up by Elliott.

Inswinger 49 (52b 3X4 2X6)
c. Drive b. Elliott

End of over 20 (5 runs)
PUNJAB PANTHERS 130/2
(R/R: 6.50)
Grant Elliott 6.0-0-36-1
Omar Malik 21(19b 2X4 1X6)

22.1 Flintoff to Dhoni, FOUR, pitches it up to get Dhoni chasing it, there's a hint of swing but thats a lovely push off the front foot into the gap at cover for a pleasing boundary, his first too.

25.2 Kallis to Malik, FOUR, short of a length outside off and cracked quite superbly off the back foot

28.4 HuZi to Dhoni, FOUR, full face of the bat to the overpitched ball, and punched very straight

End of over 30 (17 runs)

30.3 HuZi to Malik, FOUR,pitched up, on the legstump, Malik eases it through midwicket for a boundary that just makes him look meaner and meaner, wonderfully timed stroke that.

37.4 Gilmour to Dhoni, FOUR, nothing streaky about that boundary, shortish ball from Gilmour, Dhoni stands tall and square drives that for four!

40.3 Clarke to Dhoni, FOUR, short ball, pulled in the air past square leg, Flintoff runs around and dives but makes a mess of it and cannot prevent a boundary

43.3 Kallis to Malik, SIX, He is just loosening up for the actual onslaught later on. This is a mere flick and it has been dispatched into the 40th row. What amazing strength in his wrists to get the ball to fly like that.

48.3 Clarke to Dhoni, SIX, The whirlwind shot is out. He has just smashed that into oblivion. A crazy shot that has thudded into the building behind the stadium - I hope everyone is alright after this one was landed. What a stroke and just plain scary. Dhoni is a monster.

49.3 Kallis to Malik, SIX, ???!!! He brings up his 150 with that mammoth shot - what a player he has been today and he really has made the bowlers toil out there. This was a brilliant slog over long-on and no one even bothered thinking about chasing that monstrosity. Brilliance and violence combined into one stroke.

End of over 50 (25 runs)

0.6 Mullaney to Elliott, FOUR, firm stroke from Elliott, firmly grabbing hold of a length ball and cracking it on the rise, off the front foot initially, then standing tall and drilling past cover for four.

3.1 Gray to Elliott, FOUR, overpitched on the stumps and thats a vintage Elliott straight drive, yummy.

7.6 Mullaney to Elliott, FOUR, dragged down short, Elliott spots the length and hooks past deep square, bisecting the two men at deep fine leg and deep square leg.

End of over 10 (9 runs)

11.6 Gray to Kallis, FOUR, awesome shot from Kallis, initially pressing forward but then transferring the weight to punch a short ball off the toes into the window between cover and point.

18.5 Cusack to Kallis, OUT, Oh that is an easy run-out for Dhoni. Kallis plays a tame shot to the right of the pitch and just starts running blindly. He is turned back by his partner, Grant Elliott and by that time Dhoni has run from his keeping position and smashed the wickets into pieces with the ball.

Jacques Kallis 63 (52b 7X4 1X6)
run out (Dhoni)

19.2 Plasma to Elliott, OUT, short just outside off stump and he pulls it straight to Harris at mid-on! That was a poor ball, short and wide, but Elliott reached out and swatted it nowhere but to the man

Grant Elliott 78 (63b 8X4 2X6)
c. Mohsin b. Plasma

21.4 Plasma to Clarke, OUT, through the gate, Plasma swings it away slightly and lands it on the off stump, the ball beats the daylight between bat and pad and clips the offstump.

Michael Clarke 5 (7b 1X4)
b. Plasma

22.3 Gray to iHammad, FOUR, top shot, and the correct way to deal with the wide half-volley, coming onto the front foot and square-driving behind point for the second four of the over, a good one for iHammad

28.1 Plasma to iHammad, FOUR, a controlled shot, iHammad rolling the wrists over a short ball and picking the gap in front of square leg, his third flourishing shot in consecutive overs.

30.1 Plasma to iHammad, FOUR,another fullish ball and a much better-timed drive from iHammad, picking out the window at extra cover, such a pleasing batsman to watch when he's on song

33.3 Cusack to Drive, FOUR, impressive shot, getting hold of a full delivery on off stump and driving straight back past the stumps, dead straight in fact, and no one can cut it off

34.3 Mullaney to iHammad, OUT, and he's gone! Silence around the Ayub National Stadium as iHammad reaches out and square-drives a full delivery outside off stump and picks out Omar Malik at gully, holding a sharp one!

41.5 Mullaney to Drive, OUT, wrong choice of shot, Mullaney bowls another short of a length ball and Drive tries to pull him again, he plays too early and gets a tame top edge, Malik takes the catch, terrible shot at this stage.

Cover Drive 69 (67b 11X4)
c. Malik b. Mullaney

45.6 Cusack to Hit, FOUR, Cusack adjusts to a fuller length but it costs him a boundary, Free Hit leans nicely on to the cover drive, Mohsin makes a good attempt at pulling it back but the ball wins.

Tough luck Bolan - you guys really can't manage a win.

Punjab remains undefeated - what a unit that has been assembled.

Good luck to both teams in their next matches.
