Zimbabwe will be heading into the 2015 World Cup with lots of hope and promise. This time the team will be lead by Elton Chigumbura who succeeded Brendan Taylor recently as Captain. Zimbabwe has been an inconsistent team with flashes of brilliance
such as when they shocked everyone by defeating Australia.

Zimbabwe are ranked number 10 in ODI's.

Top 3 players to watch

Brendan Taylor

Brendan Taylor "The Marquee Man". He can adapt to any match situation and can bail his team out as he has done many times in the past with his cool and composed approach with the bat.

Batting average: 33.27 Strike rate : 72.50

Elton Chigumbura

Zimbabwe Captain is a useful all-rounder for his team. He is one of the hardest-hitting batsman in the team and and a very good athletic outfielder also.

Batting average: 24.92 Strike rate : 81.31

Sikandar Raza

Pakistan born Sikandar Raza is one of brightest young cricketers for Zimbabwe. As an opener he had an impressive start to his career in both Test and ODI format, all eyes will now be on him during the World Cup.

Batting average: 28.90 Strike rate : 73.63

Prediction:

Zimbabwe will not win the tournament but they are a good balanced side which is capable of upsetting any team on any given day. Their recent One day victory against Australia only indicates to you that this team can surprise any opposition who tries to take them lightly.
