PakPassion. Net has learnt that medium fast bowler Rana Naved ul Hasan has remained in Pakistan awaiting possible selection in the Pakistan squad for the forthcoming Champions Trophy squad.

19th August 2009

by Saj Sadiq

PakPassion. Net has learnt that medium fast bowler Rana Naved ul Hasan has remained in Pakistan awaiting possible selection in the Pakistan squad for the forthcoming Champions Trophy squad.

Speaking earlier to PakPassion.net Yorkshire County Cricket Club PR and Communications Manager James Buttler stated “Rana went back to Pakistan after the Sri Lanka series and has remained there. He is in full contact with Martyn Moxon and keeping us informed of the situation”.

Rana made a promising comeback to the Pakistan team and enabled Pakistan to secure victory in 3 of the 4 matches that he appeared in and has probably done enough to earn a spot in the final 15 man squad which is due to be announced soon by Iqbal Qasim the Chief Selector.

Buttler further added “It made sense for Rana to remain in Pakistan, pending the announcement of the Champions trophy squad, as if selected it would have meant him coming back to Yorkshire for only a short while and then returning back to Pakistan for the preparations for the Champions Trophy”.
