Chasing a daunting 202-run target, Bangladesh were bowled out for 144 in 19 overs, with only three batters reaching double figures. No.9 batter Tanzim Hasan Sakib stood out with a valiant 50 off 31 balls, but his efforts went in vain.
Pakistan’s spinners played a crucial role, as Abrar Ahmed (3-19), Shadab Khan (1-13), Saim Ayub (1-14), and Khushdil Shah (1-25) combined for six wickets, conceding just 71 runs in 11 overs. Among the pacers, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali claimed one wicket each.
Bangladesh started brightly with Tanzid Hasan smashing five fours and a six in his 19-ball 33, helping them reach 44 runs for the first wicket. However, Haris Rauf broke the opening stand in the fourth over, triggering a collapse as Bangladesh stumbled to 65-5 within three overs. Abrar Ahmed struck twice in the seventh over to deepen their woes.
At the halfway stage, Bangladesh were struggling at 78-7. Mehidy Hasan Miraz (23 off 17) and Tanzim added a fighting 44-run stand off 25 balls, but Tanzim’s explosive five sixes and one four ended when he was dismissed by Saim Ayub in the 19th over. No.11 Shoriful Islam was absent hurt due to injury.
Earlier, Pakistan posted 201-6, their second consecutive 200-plus total and fourth in their last eight T20Is. Sahibzada Farhan starred with a career-best 74 off 41 balls, while Hasan Nawaz registered his maiden unbeaten half-century.
After opting to bat first, Pakistan lost Saim Ayub early, but Sahibzada and Mohammad Haris built a solid 103-run partnership for the second wicket. Their aggressive batting saw Pakistan reach 67 runs in the Powerplay and 107 at the halfway mark. Haris contributed 41 off 25 balls before departing in the 11th over.
Sahibzada raced to his maiden T20I fifty off 29 balls before falling in the 13th over. Captain Salman Ali Agha (19 off 12) and Hasan Nawaz then put together a 45-run stand off 24 balls, adding momentum in the middle overs.
Pakistan scored 40 runs in the final five overs, with Hasan Nawaz finishing unbeaten on 51 off 26 balls, striking two fours and three sixes. For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud and Tanzim Sakib took two wickets each.
A convincing win for Pakistan, wrapping up the series in style!
