Clarke (including this test):
Ave - 53 (ICC ranking No. 2 - 887)
Amla:
Ave - 52 (ICC ranking No. 1 - 893)
I admire Amla greatly, but imo I'd rather have Clarke in my team at the moment.
I know they are both vulnerable against good bowling on pitches that support bowlers, but I would have a little more confidence in Clarke doing well.
