It's high time Umar Akmal was given an extended run of between 10 to 15 matches in one day internationals.

The powers that be and fans have criticised his approach and mindset but what I believe will only be a fair assessment of his capability is to give Umar a proper chance and then gauge where he is at in terms of ability, attitude, confidence and end result.

It's unfair to pick him for a couple of games, drop him and then bring him back for another match or two.

Give him an extended run, a proper chance and then let's see where we are with him.
