I know there are lot of Misbah's fans here and people have shown the stats of his performance as a batsman and above all his stats as a batsman. But in cricket, you have to look lot more than just plain stats.

Dominant players during Imran's era: The players were Miandad, Waseem, Waqar, Inzi, Salim Malik. Not only they were great and legend players but all of them went on to become the very successful captains.

Here are some of the least dominant players during Imran's eraMoin Khan, Eijaz Ahmad, Aamir Sohail, Rameez Raja, ( few names might be missing). All of them were decent players and went on to become quite decent captains.

Dominant players during Misbah's eraAfridi, Malik, Hafeez, Ajmal, Kamran Akmal. Apart from Saeed Ajmal, nobody was near great or legend, except Ajmal, all of them became captain and considadrd mediocre or below average captains.

Here some of the least dominant players during Misbah's eraImran Farhat, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Aizaz Cheema, Sami, Umar Gul, ..Forget about being captaincy material, there spot in the team is highly questionable ( but they are keep getting chances despite being so pathetic and useless ).

When Imran retired from international cricket, we did not feel his absence, he gave us very good team and bench players were very strong. Unfortunately, I cannot the same thing for Misbah.

In Pakistan cricket, it is the captain who always spot the talent ( not the selectors) and find the top prospects. Misbah has not given any future star to this team, in fact he has destroyed the confidence of young players ( Umar Akmal, Nasir Jamshed, Ahmad Shezad). He is keep giving chances to his tried and tested failure friends and taken Pakistan cricket to stone age, despite his above average individual performance as a player, he failed to live up to the expectation as a captain and as a leader.
