Result : Bangladesh won by 7 wickets (with 22 balls remaining) - Pakistan 141/5 (20/20 ov)
Bangladesh 143/3 (16.2/20 ov)

Toss: Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat

After the humiliating 3-0 whitewash, Pakistan T20 team under Shahid Afridi wanted to get things straight. Mukhtar making a debut opening the innings was a gamble but otherwise the team unit was pretty much experienced.

Pakistan looked for a new beginning to their disastrous tour of Bangladesh as their T20I team took on the home side in the Only T20I.

Shahid Afridi duly won the toss and opted to bat first. Mukhtar Ahmed (37 off 30), to the credit of the team management, made a welcome debut and showed glimpse of what he can do for Pakistan if persisted with in the future. Ahmed Shehzad (17 off 31), on the other hand, also showed many why he is struggling to stay in the Pakistan team in all formats of the game.

The remaining Pakistan batting started and spluttered in usual fashion, with Shahid Afridi who had promoted himself to No 3 falling to an unfortunate decision by the umpire. Haris Sohail (34 off 30) and Mohammad Hafeez (26 off 18) did a good job to repair the damage to take Pakistan towards a semblance of respect. However what shocked many was the promotion of Sohail Tanvir ahead of Sarfraz Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan (debutante) towards the end of the innings.
Pakistan finished their quota of 20 overs with 141/5.

Bangladesh still surfing on an all-time high after their 3-0 ODI drubbing of Pakistan, launched an explosive start but a run out of ODI hero Soumya Sarkar (0) and some good bowling by Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz to remove Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim brought back order to the proceedings. None of the Pakistan bowlers could exert any pressure from that point, leaking runs at an alarming rate. Sabbir Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan put paid to any hopes of a Pakistan revival on this tour by clobbering all bowlers to an unbroken 105 run partnership, taking their side to a 7 wicket victory in 16.2 overs.

A hammering by all accounts and Pakistan’s nightmare tour of Bangladesh therefore continues uninterrupted with 4th successive loss and very few positives to show for their pain. Shahid Afridi will now return to Pakistan whilst Misbah-ul-Haq will resume the grim struggle for good news on this tour as he captains the Pakistan side with the first Test match kicking off on April 28th.
