Toss: Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first

Teams:

Pakistan team: *Misbah-ul-Haq, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Hafeez, Ahmed Shehzad, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Sarfraz Ahmed, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar.

Sri Lanka team: Angelo Mathews*, Kaushal Silva, Karunaratne, Kumar Sangakkara, Lahiru Thirimanne, Vithanage, Dinesh Chandimal, Dhamika Prasad, Dilruwan Perera, Rangana Herath, Nuwan Predeep.

After Day 1 was washed out, the second day also started with a rain delay. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first and wanted to take advantage of the overcast conditions and overnight rain. Wahab Riaz bowled with aggression and got wicket of a no-ball. He then saw Kaushal Silva's catch being dropped at backward point by Yasir Shah. He eventually picked up the wicket of Karunaratne who was caught behind.

Junaid and Zulfiqar didn't pose much threat until Yasir Shah came on and created a chance as Sangakkara was dropped by Azhar Ali at short leg. A difficult chance but could have changed things.

At Tea the partnership between Kaushal Silva and Kumar Sangakkara had reached 93 runs and Sri Lanka were looking comfortable on 123-1

Wahab got Sangakakra in the last session after he scored 50. Pakistan applied pressure and eventually the right arm spin of Hafeez worked as he took the wicket of Thirimanne.

The play for the day was called off due to bad light with Sri Lanka reasonably placed on 178/3 (64.0 ov)

Fall of Wickets:

Karunaratne 30-1 (12.2 overs)
Sangakkara 142-2 (49.3 overs)
Thirimanne 154-3 (55.5 overs)
