Day 2 score: Sri Lanka 178-3 (Kaushal Silva 80* and Angelo Mathews 10*)

Pakistan began the extended Day 3 first session in search for wickets. Wahab was again best bowler who removed the skipper Mathews early who played on to get the 4th Sri Lanka wicket. Kaushal Silva continued to play his shots and occupy the crease. Pakistan took the second new ball and Zulfiqar removed Chandimal straight away who was bowled while cutting. Mohammad Hafeez then caught and bowled Vithanage but Kaushal got his 2nd ODI hundred from the other end. Sri Lanka ended the first session on 273-6.

Yasir Shah struck straight after lunch getting Dilruwan Parera caught behind. Prasad soon followed as he was judged LBW by Zulfiqar and eventually Sri Lanka were all out for 300. Wahab and Zulfiqar finished with 3 wickets each while Hefeez and Yasir Shah got 2 a piece.

Pakistan got off to a disastrous start as they lost Hafeez in the first over to Prasad. Ahmed Shehzad followed as he was give LBW and Pakistan were reduced to 11-2. Azhar Ali didn't last long either when he was given LBW off Herath to leave Pakistan at 38-3 at Tea.

Younis Khan and Misbah rebuilt with a 51 run partnership until Younis was bowled by Perera to leave Pakistan at 89-4. Misbah was caught in the slips after scoring 20 by Predeep as Pakistan were left in deep trouble at 96-5. Asad Shafiq and Sarfraz Ahmed took the score to 118-5 when rain arrived and play was called off for the day.

Pakistan have some serious batting to do on Day 4 to fashion anything positive from this game which does seem like a tough call based on their performance so far.
