Tamim Iqbal (55*) and Mohammad Asghar (2/11) are stand-out performers as Zalmi continue their unbeaten run at the PSL.

Result : Peshawar Zalmi win by 9 wickets (with 24 balls remaining) - Lahore Qalandars 117/6 (20/20 ov) Peshawar Zalmi 118/1 (16/20 ov)

Toss: Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to field

Lahore Qalandars: Azhar Ali(c), Chris Gayle, Cameron Delport, Mohammad Rizwan, Umar Akmal(wk), Dwayne Bravo, Hammad Azam, Zohaib Khan, Adnan Rasool, Ajantha Mendis, Zia-ul-Haq

Peshawar Zalmi: Mohammad Hafeez, Tamim Iqbal, Dawid Malan, Kamran Akmal(wk), Shahid Yousuf, Shahid Afridi(c), Darren Sammy, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Asghar, Shaun Tait

Lahore Qalandar innings: The innings started with a bang....as Gayle's stumps were rattled first ball, his first ever first ball dismissal in a T20 match. Things got bad to worse as Delport was run out very very carelessly, failing to ground his bat properly. The innings looked close to a total collapse as the three wicket fell only in the second over. Teetering Lahore's Akmal showed flashes of promise and tried to rebuild the innings with Azhar Ali however the latter looked very poor and there must be questions asked as to why he was made skipper of his franchise. His T20 experience or lack of is being highlighted. Despite some late hitting from Bravo Lahore finished tamely at a very below par total of 117/6. The bowling maestro from Peshawar, Asghar, bowled superbly again, and was very hard to hit. Surely a player to watch out for!

FOW:

1-0 (Gayle 0.1 overs)
2-0 (Delport 0.3 overs)
3-4 (M Rizwan 1.4 overs)
4-45 (U Akmal 9.3 overs)
5-63 (Azhar Ali 14.2 overs)
6-107 (DJ Bravo 18.5 overs)

Peshawar Zalmi innings: Solid and assured. Only blight was Hafeez's dropped catch at the start but they motored on, dominating their opponents. Tamim again showing his talent and is no wonder why his international team is looking so good. Hafeez looked very good and played some excellent shots, and his form is a good sign for Pakistan's coming games this month. Lahore look lost, had no ideas and the decision to bring on Mendis late on was confusing. Peshawar look formidable and will be a big test against all teams.

FOW:

1-95 (M Hafeez 11.2 overs)

Match summary: Another easy win for Zalmi while another poor performance from Lahore. For the former it means tomorrow's contest with Quetta should be excellent between two unbeaten teams. While for Lahore their bowling looks very poor and they seem bereft of any ideas when it comes to their batting.
