By PakPassion.net Staff (12th February, 2016)

Result : Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by 27 runs. Karachi Kings 178/5 (20/20 ov) Lahore Qalandars 151/8 (20/20 ov)

Toss: Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to field

Karachi Kings: Nauman Anwar, James Vince, Ravi Bopara, Shoaib Malik(c), Mushfiqur Rahim(wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Imad Wasim, Sohail Tanvir, Usama Mir, Sohail Khan, Mir Hamza

Lahore Qalandars: Chris Gayle, Cameron Delport, Naved Yasin, Mohammad Rizwan(wk), Umar Akmal, Dwayne Bravo(c), Hammad Azam, Zohaib Khan, Zafar Gohar, Kevon Cooper, Ehsan Adil

Karachi Kings Innings : Curious innings, had everything from massive sixes to some abysmal fielding. Nauman finally got going, however like his teammates, he was helped by a shocking Lahore fielding display and especially Bopara's drop being the costly one as he coasted to a blistering 71. Imad failed to impress again but Karachi still managed to reach a very good total. When it came to the bowling side Bravo was shocking, going for 47 runs while Gohar bowled well picking up two wickets.

FOW:

1-54 (Nauman Anwar , 6.4 overs)
2-62 (J Vince , 8.2 overs)
3-95 (S Malik , 12.4 overs)
4-109 (Shakib , 14.3 overs)
5-139 (Imad Wasim , 17.1 overs)

Lahore Qalandars Innings: Lahore started slowly but with a sense of purpose, both Gayle and Delport knew what the plan was and slowly opened up and freed their arms. Some very quick and clever running and fantastic hitting from both players took Lahore to a very good total of 98 after 11 overs. However then disaster struck as both were out after back to back balls. If that blow wasn't enough then Bravo soon followed and that left the Qalandars with three wickets down in 4 balls. Lahore's total collapse was complete when Bopara took 3 wickets in a single over and decimated any hope for a win. He did not stop there however, he left Lahore decimated after 6 wickets from 16 runs and his wicket of Akmal left Lahore down and out and Lahore finished tamely at 151/8.

FOW:

1-98 (Delport , 10.6 overs)
2-98 (Gayle , 11.1 overs)
3-99 (DJ Bravo , 11.4 overs)
4-122 (M Rizwan , 15.3 overs)
5-122 (H Azam , 15.4 overs)
6-122 (Naved Yasin , 15.6 overs)
7-132 (U Akmal , 17.2 overs)
8-134 (Z Gohar , 18.2 overs)

Match summary: Eight dropped catches and shocking batting....Lahore will do good to forget this disaster. Fantastic from the Kings, Bopara has been sensational, what a buy he's turning out to be. Karachi keep in touch with the others while Lahore seem to be catapulting to failure and are rooted at the bottom of the table.
