Excellent final over by Aizaz Cheema sees Quetta snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

By PakPassion.net Satff (19th January, 2016)

Result : Quetta Gladiators win by 1 run - Quetta Gladiators 133 (19.3/20 overs) Peshawar Zalmi 132/9 (20/20 overs)

Toss: Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and elected to ball

Quetta Gladiators: Shehzad, Bismillah Khan, Kevin Pietersen,Sangakkara, Elliott, Sarfraz Ahmed, McCullum, Anwar, Babar, Nawaz,Cheema

Peshawar Zalmi: Mohammad Hafeez, Akmal, Shahid Yousuf, Hodge, Bairstow, Shahid Afridi, Sammy, Wahab Riaz, Asghar, Tait, Hasan Ali

Quetta Gladiators Innings : For the second time against Zalmi, Quetta collapsed despite two excellent innings by KP and Sangakara. They kept losing wickets and did not threaten at all after Nawaz fell after a good cameo, Quetta in the end fell to a below par total which they would be disappointed with.

FOW:

1-0 (Bismillah Khan , 0.2 overs)
2-11 (Ahmed Shehzad , 3.1 overs)
3-90 (Sangakkara , 11.6 overs)
4-95 (Sarfraz , 12.4 overs)
5-106 (Pietersen , 14.1 overs)
6-122 (Mohammad Nawaz , 16.5 overs)
7-126 (N McCullum , 17.6 overs)
8-133 (Elliott , 19.1 overs)
9-133 (Z Babar , 19.2 overs)
10-133 (Anwar Ali , 19.3 overs)

Peshawar Zalmi Innings : Zalmi started a bit slowly and then all momentum after some superb bowling by Anwar and the main main, Nawaz. The latter bowling some superb deliveries. Zalmi collapsed, Afridi playing very poorly once more, to 84/6. However like matches before this Sammy came back to rescue the men in yellow, playing typical Sammy shots and taking the bowlers to the cleaners. Just as he was looking like he was taking the game away from Quetta, the golden boy Nawaz, struck again and removed Sammy capping off a superb performance. That was however not over as the game went to the last over which had everything from boundaries to two wickets, a thriller at that, but kept their nerve and booked their place in the final.

FOW:

1-29 (K Akmal , 4.3 overs)
2-31 (M Hafeez , 5.1 overs)
3-31 (Hodge , 5.2 overs)
4-57 (Bairstow , 10.3 overs)
5-62 (S Yousuf , 12.1 overs)
6-84 (Afridi , 14.6 overs)
7-113 (Sammy , 17.6 overs)

Match summary: The playoff between the two best teams turned out to be another thriller, both going at it and giving their all, and you'd still back either of these to win the PSL. For Quetta its been a great journey and they will now focus all their attention on the final, while Peshawar also know they're still the favorites along with Quetta and will fancy beating either of Islamabad and Karachi.
