Result : Islamabad United win by 9 wickets - Karachi Kings 111/9 (20/20 overs) Islamabad United 115/1 (14.2/20 overs)
Toss : Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field
Islamabad United XI: Dwayne Smith, Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Asif Ali, Misbah-ul-Haq(c), Brad Haddin(wk), Andre Russell, Mohammad Irfan, Samuel Badree, Imran Khalid, Mohammad Sami
Karachi Kings XI: Lendl Simmons, Riki Wessels(wk), Shoaib Malik, Ravi Bopara(c), Ryan ten Doeschate, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Usama Mir, Sohail Khan, Mir Hamza
Karachi Kings Innings: There were so many things wrong with this innings from Karachi's poor batting to how they approached the entire innings. They lost wickets and failed to runs, even Bopara and Doeschate went about at a very slow pace. Sami ripped their batting line up apart with a superb bowling display, 8 runs runs and 5 wickets and KK finished at a very low total of 111.
FOW:
1-20 (Riki Wessels , 3.2 overs)
2-28 (L Simmons , 4.4 overs)
3-29 (S Malik , 5.3 overs)
4-39 (Iftikhar Ahmed , 8.2 overs)
5-88 (R Bopara , 16.3 overs)
6-89 (ten Doeschate , 16.5 overs)
7-100 (Imad Wasim , 18.2 overs)
8-100 (Usama Mir , 18.3 overs)
9-111 (S Khan , 19.6 overs)
Islamabad United Innings : With a very low total chase United were comfortable throughout, and to be honest it was more match practice for them then a serious chase. They picked their shots and settled in well and took the bowling apart and chased the total down with ease by nine wickets. Smith and Haddin looked dangerous, especially the former who has been a bit out of form but batted well. United however will be worried by Sharjeel's lack of form. He has been poor apart from one big innings and they cannot afford anyone not in form against Peshawar.
FOW:
1-18 (S Khan , 3.3 overs)
Match summary: Karachi like Lahore have had a very poor PSL, they have been poor in every department. United started very poorly but boy have they made a recovery, despite having injury issues. They have been solid however they will have to be at their best against Peshawar and will need Sami to fire again.
