Pakistan Innings

Sarfraz won the toss and an unchanged Pakistan team opted to bat, whilst Jason Mohammed debuted for West Indies. The hosts got off to a perfect start as Shehzad and the promoted Imad were dismissed within the first four deliveries by Badree, bowled and stumped respectively. Babar and Kamran stabilised the innings though they failed to inject momentum into it. Kamran finally began to get some boundaries away towards the end of the powerplay as the partnership blossomed with 76 on the board after 10 overs. However, Kamran fell to a full-toss from Samuels, missing out on a fifty as he was dismissed for 48 while Malik played a short, jittery knock and was out caught in the deep as well. Fakhar and Babar hit a six apiece but the latter perished as he tried to scoop the ball and was bowled for 43. Sarfraz was run out cheaply and Wahab also fell soon as Pakistan stumbled at the finish line. Fakhar failed to get the ball away for boundaries and was eventually run out for 21 as the Pakistan innings finished with a whimper at 137/8.

West Indies Innings

There was an early wicket for Pakistan in the midst of three tight overs as Walton fell with Fakhar taking a good catch in the deep. However, Lewis hit a couple of boundaries off Tanvir then dispatched Imad for two big sixes to put the pressure back on the tourists. Samuels joined the party as West Indies racked up 49 runs in the powerplay. Wahab came on to bowl and started well with a tight over that saw him dismiss Samuels but Lewis continued on his merry way. West Indies were level at the 10-over mark with Pakistan's total of 76, but Lewis took off, reaching his fifty while smashing Shadab for a couple of sixes. Wahab bowled another good over but the effort was wasted as Tanvir returned with a 24-run over that included three more sixes from Lewis. Shadab finally dismissed the opener as Wahab caught him in the deep but he made effectively ended the contest with his 91-run knock off just 51 balls. The win was sealed next ball as the hosts won by 7 wickets with over 5 overs to spare.

Fall Of Wickets

1-2 (Walton, 1.2 ov)
2-58 (Samuels, 7.6 ov)
3-134 (Lewis, 14.4 ov)

Match Summary:

Another disappointing batting performance by Pakistan and this time, the bowling was unable to mask it as Lewis ran rampage. The margin of victory was massive at the end of the game and the visitors need to look at their stale batting order going forward. Too many one dimensional batsmen meant that Pakistan were always behind the game. The bowling was also lacklustre, with Tanvir in particular going for plenty. A change or two can be expected as West Indies look the square the series tomorrow.

Next match: 4th T20I on Sunday, 2nd April.
