M is for...Misbah

Misbah.

That's right, the Pakistan captain and our best ODI batsman on current form has a massive role to play if Pakistan are to progress in the Champions Trophy.

His performance in the ODI series in South Africa showed that he still can perform against the very best, and as Dav Whatmore said, "Misbah's batting has had a new lease of life".

His performance in the ODI series in South Africa showed that he still can perform against the very best, and as Dav Whatmore said, "Misbah's batting has had a new lease of life".

His captaincy has been criticised at times, but the results speak for themselves and the ODI series win in India was a major feather in his cap. With his critics seemingly never happy no matter what he does, Misbah will be under pressure to take his side to the latter stages of the tournament, particularly with what some say is a defensive looking squad.

I expect Misbah to rise above it though, as he has done throughout his career, and lead from the front to make Pakistan a very competitive force at the Champions Trophy.
