Pakistan Under-19s Innings

Pakistan's U19's came with a lot of purpose today. England U19's put them into bat, and Pakistan started very slowly. In the first three overs a total of 5 runs were made - 4 of those were leg-byes. After this, Imam-ul-Haq began to show intent after hitting Shaw for a 4 and continued to hit a boundary every other over. England's bowling was put under pressure, but in the 11.6th over, Fisher struck and Imran Butt fell after scoring 22 off 52 balls. Next in was captain Sami Aslam. He came in with intent and scored a solid 60 off 79 balls. His partner on the other end, Imam-ul-Haq made a massive 120 from 142 balls. Once Sami Aslam's wicket fell, Hussain Talat came in and, after scoring a short 16, followed his captain back to the pavilion. Farhan Nazir came in and helped support Imam-ul-Haq scoring a quick fire 46 off 22 balls. In the end Pakistan U19's had accumulated an excellent total of 288.

Fall Of Wickets
1-46 Imran Butt, 11.6 overs
2-191 Sami Aslam, 39.5 overs
3-211 Hussain Talat, 43.3 overs
4-264 Imam-ul-Haq, 47.6 overs
5-288 Farhan Nazir, 49.6 overs

England Under-19s Innings

With 288 required from 50 overs, Pakistan would have felt that they were in the drivers seat. A fired up Pakistan U-19 team ripped through the top order of the England U-19 batting. Higgins, McManus, and Hameed all fell for scores 10, 16, and 11 respectively. Finch came in to give England a figting chance by scoring a 50, but he was dismissed shortly after. His partner Tattersall fell for just 7 runs. Then, Rhodes came in and almost tried to take the game away single-handedly. He scored 102 runs off 83 balls, but once Mohammad Aftab came with a breakthrough, England U19's innings quickly fell apart as everyone after Rhodes went for scored under 10.

Fall Of Wickets
1-12 Higgins, 2.5 overs
2-38 Hameed, 9.5 overs
3-48 McManus, 12.3 overs
4-60 Tattersall, 16.4 overs
5-194 Finch, 40.2 overs
6-204 Winslade, 41.5 overs
7-214 Rhodes, 42.6 overs
8-225 Shaw, 44.4 overs
9-232 Fisher, 45.4 overs
10-242 Hammond, 47.6 overs

Summary

Despite the slow start, Pakistan's Under 19 came into win this match after a wash-out of their opening game against Bangladesh. Imam-ul-Haq and Captain Sami Aslam came powering in, with a 120 and 60 respectively. Farhan Nazir's quick 46 proved instrumental as Pakistan won by that exact margin. England's batting fell to pieces except for Rhodes and Finch and will have to regroup and think about their tactics in the next match.
