Moin Khan may not have been present today at the impressive Shiekh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi to watch an almost full strength Pakistan take on a enthusiastic team from the UAE, but one would assume that he and the team management would been pleased with how team went about their task.

In previous remarks to the press, Aaqib Javed, the former stable mate for Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis had expressed his delight for his UAE team to have an opportunity to play against Pakistan stating that “We are excited to be pitting ourselves against a full Pakistan side as they prepare to take on the best team in the world. Cricket in the UAE is going from strength to strength and the opportunity to test ourselves against a Test playing national like Pakistan will only benefit our guys in the long run. We aren’t going to be out there to give them practice – we play to win.”

Whether it was in the UAE plan or not, he relatively formidable Pakistan batting side were dismissed for 315 by the end of first day of this 2 day practice game Whether Aaqib's inside knowledge of the frailties of Pakistan batsmen was important or not, Younis Khan (103) was the star of the day with a century to his name, whilst spinner Abdur Rehman (batting at No 5) also put a half century to his name. This being a practice game, some players such as Khurram Manzoor and Saeed Ajmal (batting at number 4) came out to bat twice after their dismissals!

All other Pakistani players, including the likes of Irfan and Zulfiqar Babar also had batting practice today but all eyes will be on the Pakistani bowling attack to show their supremacy over the UAE batsmen tomorrow, although some such as "Sixer" Shaiman may have different ideas!
