Sri Lanka Innings
Dilshan and Perera started the innings in blistering fashion, launching Usman Khan Shinwari's first over for 13 and Sri Lanka never looked back. Sohail Tanvir, his opening bowling partner however was able to maintain a degree of control. Dilshan (48) was the first wicket to fall, with Sri Lanka on 100 as he was caught by the sweeper off Saeed Ajmal.
Debutant Prasanna was sent in next as a pinch hitter, and achieved his goal as he scored 21 runs off 8 balls - Hafeez on the receiving end as the 13th over cost 24 runs - before Ajmal struck again in the 14th.
His wicket brought Sangakkara to the crease, and he provided the acceleration at the end of the innings, as he ended unbeaten on 44 off just 21 balls.
As is often the case, Ajmal showed a bowler with the ability to maintain control under pressure could succeed, ending up with figures of 2 wickets for 25 runs from his 4 overs in a spell of masterful bowling but the rest of the bowlers remained wicket-less. Usman Khan's 4 overs went for 52, Bhatti 2 overs for 32, Hafeez 4 overs for 45 and Afridi 2 overs for 25. Tanvir ended his 4 overs with a more respectable economy rate of 7.75.
Perera was unselfishly run out off the last ball, ending the innings with a magnificent 84 runs from 59 balls, including five fours and four sixes as Sri Lanka romped to 211 from their 20 overs.

Pakistan Innings
Pakistan's chase started badly, as they lost Ahmed Shehzad for just 8 runs as he swept straight to point off Senanayake. Captain Hafeez (7) ended a horrible match for him by nibbling at a Kulasekara delivery and being caught behind, a manner of dismissal he must have grown accustomed to in his career.
The procession continued as Pakistan looked to try and stay in touch with the run rate. Sohaib Maqsood was the next to go, with the score leaving Pakistan on 62/3 after pulling the ball in the air.
At the other end, Sharjeel Khan was batting beautifully, bringing up his 50 off just 25 balls, including four fours and three sixes. He was dismissed, bowled off a full toss by debutant Prasanna. This precipitated a collapse for Pakistan, as they lost 5 wickets in 13 balls, from 3/83 to 7/85 including ducks for Umar Akmal, Umar Amin and Bilawal Bhatti. Afridi was joined by Sohail Tanvir, who survived a hat-trick delivery by Senanayake.
Afridi looked to carry on his good form from the previous match and scored 28 off 13 balls before Sangakkara took a brilliant catch off a high ball after initially over-running.
There was a small flourish at the end, as Tanvir gave Pakistan a brief glimmer of hope as he and Ajmal, who slapped a Kulasekara slower ball for 6 over midwicket.
Pakistan went into the last two overs needing 29 runs, but a tiring Tanvir struggled to hit Malinga, who bowled the penultimate over and was caught for 41 off 26 balls.
The Pakistan innings ended with Kulasekara trapping Ajmal lbw for 20 and Sri Lanka squared the series 1-1 and held on to the world number one ranking.

Summary
Pakistan's strategy was clear - to blast away and keep abreast of the run rate and they were largely successful in achieving this. However they lost also lost wickets at regular intervals and in the end the Sri Lankan total proved too much to handle.
The ODI series begins on the 18th of December in Sharjah .
