It was always going to be difficult for Pakistan. Sarfraz was out after making 55, his 4th consecutive 50+ score in Tests and the tail followed. Junaid did not bat due to being advised by the doctor but he wasn't required either which meant that Pakistan lost the match by 105 runs and the series 2-0. Rangana Herath was given the Man of the Match award for his match figures of 14-184.

Result: Sri Lanka win the 2nd Test by 105 runs

 

Overnight: Pakistan were 127/7 with Sarfraz Ahmed 38* and Wahab Riaz 2*, requiring 144 runs to win 2nd Test


Morning Session

Pakistan started Day 5 facing an uphill task of scoring another 144 runs with only 3 wickets remaining, with Sarfraz Ahmed and Wahab Riaz at the crease. The pair contributed 29 runs until Sarfraz Ahmed was dismissed by Welegedara when he top edged to deep square. Ajmal was the last man in as Junaid Khan was advised by the doctor to rest and he did not come out to bat.

Wahab Riaz tried to get a few runs but was eventually dismissed by Herath who finished with yet another 5-fer (5-57)

Junaid was unable to bat due to the concussion he suffered while batting in the first innings, which meant that Pakistan lost the match by 105 runs and the series 2-0. Rangana Herath was given the Man of the Match award for his match figures of 14-184.
