Lancashire County Cricket Club have confirmed to PakPassion.net that they are hopeful of coming to an agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding left arm pace bowler Junaid Khan's participation in the Friends Life T20 Finals Day.

Lancashire County Cricket Club have confirmed to PakPassion.net that they are hopeful of coming to an agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding left arm pace bowler Junaid Khan's participation in the Friends Life T20 Finals Day.

Khan has been a key component in Lancashire's impressive run in the Twenty20 Competition and having disposed of Sussex yesterday, the Red Rose county will feature in Finals day at Edgbaston on 27th August. Lancashire will take on Leicestershire in the first semi-final at Birmingham in what is expected to be a fantastic day of cricket for players and fans alike.

Khan took 2 for 35 against Sussex at Hove yesterday and has particularly impressed with his bowling "at the death" for Lancashire. In 7 matches the youngster has taken 10 wickets at just over 15 apiece. What has also been impressive is the economy rate of 5.59 that Junaid has achieved in his first experience of County cricket.

Khan confirmed to PakPassion.net that he will be departing for Pakistan tomorrow ahead of the short series later this month against Zimbabwe.

"It's been a great experience playing for Lancashire and I hope that I have pleased the fans, players and coaching staff." said Junaid.

He added "I'll be leaving for Pakistan tomorrow (Wednesday) and will be attending the pre Zimbabwe tour camp which starts next week in Lahore. We'll have to wait and see what is agreed between the PCB and Lancashire to see if I take part in Finals Day."

The only test match that Pakistan will play against Zimbabwe is due to commence on 1st September, but if Junaid is to take part in Finals Day, then he would have to miss the 2 day warm up match against a Zimbabwe XI in Harare which starts on 28th August.
