ZTBL batsman Yasir Hameed speaking to PakPassion.net stated his desire to meet with Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Zaka Ashraf and discuss his international future with him.

By Saj Sadiq (10th December, 2011)

ZTBL batsman Yasir Hameed speaking to PakPassion.net stated his desire to meet with Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Zaka Ashraf and discuss his international future with him.

Hameed has scored over 550 runs at an average of just under 40 in Division One of the ongoing Quaid E Azam Trophy but his international future seems uncertain after last years tour of England.

"I've heard that the new Chairman is keen to speak with cricketers who have any grievances and I am looking to meet with him soon. I know that other cricketers have met Mr Ashraf and openly discussed any issues and I will look to speak with him very soon."

Hameed has not featured for Pakistan since the infamous Lords Test match last year when the visitors were bundled out for 74 and 147, with Hameed making 2 and 3 respectively, however he feels that his international career is not over despite now being 33 years of age.

"I've been in decent form this season and have reached 50 on five occasions with one century. I feel I am still good enough and fit enough for international cricket and just need to clear a few things up with the Chairman."

Hameed is currently featuring against National Bank in a match that NBP look set to wrap up tomorrow after an impressive bowling performance from left arm pace bowler Wahab Riaz who has match figures of 10 for 117. Hameed made 53 and 5, but National Bank only require only 116 runs for victory with 9 wickets in hand.

Hameed showered praise on his former international team mate Riaz who is currently not being selected for Pakistan and stated "Wahab has bowled fast, with hostility and with a lot of aggression. He was a handful for the ZTBL batsmen and he looks in great shape. He was moving the ball around and was bowling with great rhythm. He's not an easy bowler to face when he's in such good form. Wahab deserved the 10 wicket haul as he worked hard and bowled exceptionally."
