PakPassion.net has learnt that Pakistan's coaching duo of Dav Whatmore and Julien Fountain have suggested to the Pakistan Cricket Board to organise a 3 way tournament in Lahore.

PakPassion.net has learnt that Pakistan's coaching duo of Dav Whatmore and Julien Fountain have suggested to the Pakistan Cricket Board to organise a 3 way tournament in Lahore.

The idea was presented by the coaching duo in recent meetings with PCB officials and selectors, and is likely to get the thumbs up from the PCB.

The idea behind the 3 team tournament is for Dav Whatmore to take a look at the abundance of talent available to him and the selectors and also to look at some players who have not been in favour with selectors recently.

PakPassion.net has learnt that a pool of 50 players has been identified between the coaches and the selectors and that 3 squads will be created for a series of 50 over and 20 over matches under lights in Lahore.

The pool of players is likely to include current players in favour with the selectors, young up and coming players who have caught the selectors eye at junior levels and recent domestic tournaments, as well as players who have previously played for Pakistan, but have not been selected of late.

Dates have not yet been finalised for the series of matches but the games could commence as early as next week if scheduling and logistics can be arranged.
