A nationwide talent hunt for cricketers from the age of 17 to 25 will be launched on 7th June by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The coaches entrusted with leading this project will be Ijaz Ahmed who will attempt to identify batting talent, Sarfraz Nawaz who will be responsible for identifying fast bowling talent and former Pakistan leg spinner Abdul Qadir who will be looking out for talented spinners across Pakistan.

The three coaches will travel around Pakistan over the next three months attempting to identify talent by holding trials at each of the venues.

Some of the places where the coaches will be visiting include Mirpur, Chitral, Karachi, Multan, Abottabad.

The idea is to have open trials that any cricketers can attend. They will all get a chance to bat and bowl when the trials are going on and any cricketers who impress the coaches.

Some players will of course be affiliated to local clubs whilst others may not yet have had the opportunity to play any club cricket.

The trials will be organised and publicised by each of the regional cricket organisations and any players who impress the coaches will be asked to attend the National Cricket Academy in Lahore where further trials will take place.

After the further trials at the NCA, a final list of players will be identified and asked to attend the NCA on a regular basis to improve their basic skills.

Of course after being identified and asked to attend the NCA, then there is every likelihood that the players will be spotted by first class teams in Pakistan.
