Faisalabad Wolves Innings

Faisalabad Wolves, in a do-or-die match, got off to a positive start. The opening batsman, Ammar Mahmood, struck 5 fours in 3 successive overs. Ali Waqas also managed to find the boundary once, but was caught by Ashish Reddy off Amit Mishra for 16(21). In the next over, the leggie, Sharma, bowled Asif Ali for a duck.

Misbah-ul-Haq promoted himself up the order to make use of as many deliveries as possible. He smashed Sharma for a six, while Ammar Mahmood was caught by Mishra off Sammy for 31(38). Misbah-ul-Haq continued his run flow with sixes off Mishra and Sammy. Imran Khalid couldn’t stick around with his skipper and was sent on his way by Ishant Sharma on the score of 2. Khurram Shehzad was bowled by Perera for 4, but Misbah, as usual, continued to send the ball out of the park. He brought up his fifty in the last over with a six off Perera.

Faisalabad Wolves ended up 127/5, with Misbah-ul-Haq unbeaten on 56(40).

Fall Of Wickets:

Sunrisers Hyderabad Innings

The Sunrisers Hyderabad started off steadily without any hiccups at all. They targeted Samiullah Khan Niazi and Saeed Ajmal. The powerplay yielded 51 runs. Ehsan Adil provided the Wolves with the breakthrough as Parthiv Patel played into the hands of Khurram Shehzad. He scored 23(21). Shikhar Dhawan smoked Imran Khalid for a six and a four, but the bowler had the last laugh as he bowled him for 59(50). Samantray was trapped lbw by the same bowler for a duck, with it was too late for the Wolves as Darren Sammy got Sunrisers over the line by hitting three fours off consecutive balls from Asad Ali.

Fall Of Wickets:
1-68 (Patel, 8.5 overs)
2-112 (Dhawan, 14.4 overs)
3-112 (Samantray, 14.6 overs)

Summary
Faisalabad Wolves followed in Sialkot Stallions’ footsteps and bowed out at the qualifying stage of the Champions League T20. It was the usual story of Misbah-ul-Haq standing tall as the lone warrior. The Wolves will now face Kandurata in two days in a bid to restore some pride.
