Faisalabad Wolves Innings
Faisalabad Wolves’ openers didn’t give their side a bright start yet again and Ali Waqas nicked one to Sangakkara off Kulasekara. In his next over, from the other end, he made Asif Ali commit the same error after he had made 10 runs. In the next over, Dilhara got Ammar Mahmood’s wicket to leave Faisalabad in real trouble.
Misbah-ul-Haq got a let off early and capitalised well on it. He was firing on all cylinders, but on the other end, wickets were tumbling. Khurram Shehzad failed to pick Mendis and was trapped lbw for 7. But Misbah had other ideas, he targeted Randiv from the other end and reached his second consecutive half-century of the tournament. Mohammad Salman and Imran Khalid fell in the same over off Dilhara for 21 and 0 respectively. Misbah-ul-Haq ended up on a breathtaking and unbeaten 93 from 60 balls, scoring 47% of the Wolves total runs in the tournament.
The Wolves set up a target of 147 for the Maroons.
Fall Of Wickets:
1-5 (Ali Waqas, 0.5 overs)
2-20 (Asif Ali, 3.3 overs)

Kandurata Maroons Innings
The Maroons looked to be in some hurry and Upul Tharanga blazed three fours off Asad Ali’s first over. Kandamby was trapped in front by him though in the same over. Samiullah Khan Niazi built the pressure from the other end by bowling miserly. Tharanga and Sangakkara tried to steady the ship with their experience, but not for too long as the former fell to Ehsan Adil for 25. Ehsan returned in the next over to get rid of the skipper, Thirimanne, who scored 4 runs.
Sangakkara was also sent to the pavilion in the 15th over. He played a good hand, though, scoring 44 from 36 balls. Imran Khalid got his second wicket in the shape of Silva for 25. Dilhara and Siriwardana found the fence late in the innings, but both of them fell prey to Ehsan Adil and Faisalabad Wolves won the match by 10 runs.
Fall Of Wickets:
1-14 (Kandamby, 1.6 overs)
2-43 (Tharanga, 7.2 overs)
3-55 (Thirimanne, 9.1 overs)
4-83 (Sangakkara, 14.1 overs)
5-108 (Silva, 16.6 overs)
6-130 (Dilhara, 19.3 overs)
7-136 (Siriwardana, 19.6 overs)
Summary
Faisalabad Wolves finally recorded a win in their campaign largely thanks to Misbah-ul-Haq’s stupendous knock of 93 runs from 60 balls. However it is a concern for Pakistan fans that the quality of our domestic players seems quite far behind some of the other sides. The PCB should sit up and take note otherwise Pakistan may well be left behind on the international circuit.
Misbah however, showed his class once again and ironically has staked a claim for a return to Pakistan's T20 side!
