A ray of hope, in a country where the most played and watched sport, football, is overlooked, Kick Off Academy promises to lure football lovers in Pakistan and create awareness of the game amongst the people of the country.
The project is highly inspirational and will be launching next month, on 2 November 2013, to be precise. The major aspect of this project is that its scope is not limited to a single venue only. Instead it's a project of multiple football academies for the development of football throughout the country. The first academy will be launched in Karachi immediately with the support of highly qualified trainers and coaches. Kick Off Academy’s team has strived hard to bring on board a number of international sports icons and personalities before the launch to create awareness.
For this very purpose, a dedicated team, which is assigned various tasks, is in contact with tennis icons like Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Aqeel Khan and a number of international cricketers. The team has also approached the Pakistan football team’s skipper, Zeshan Rehman, who plays his football for Kitchee FC in Hong Kong. With these icons joining hands for the prosperity of the game, it will not only give this project a huge boost, but also to the reach of the sport in this country. The team includes, Diana Award winner and Guinness World Record holder Aymen Saleem, director of Al-Riaz Group of Companies and PTV Sports’ football pundit, Asad Omer, and PTV Sports’ football pundit, Hassan Aslam.
PakPassion’s own correspondent and writer, Farid Khan, is also part of the team as the helping hand and is doing his bit for the goodwill of sports, especially football, in Pakistan.
The Kick Off Academy is also in search of new and willing sponsors from within the country to help advertise and promote their noble cause. As we stand, a number of reputable sponsors have already been tied up to back up the academy while there is ample possibility of a few sponsors agreeing to embrace the project well in time before the launch. This is the first of many positive steps taken in Pakistan to take the level of football to the next one and to try and be on the same page as some of the football academies abroad.
PakPassion wishes the entire team the best of luck and will leave no stone unturned in covering the game of football in Pakistan, which it has been doing for the past few years now.
