Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited Innings 


Yasir Hameed's half-century and Junaid Zia's maiden five-for helped Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) remain led them into the final of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup for Departments as they defeated United Bank Limited by 35-runs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 

Openers Imran Nazir and Sharjeel Khan got ZTBL off to a flyer. The latter marked his national call-up by smashing 41 off 26 balls, with four fours and three sixes. Imran Nazir, was trapped lbw for 18 and Haris Sohail fell cheaply for 7. 

Yasir Hameed and Shahid Yousuf batted with ease, maintaining the momentum set by the openers. They shared an impressive 92-run stand comprising of 50 balls for the fourth wicket, which aided ZTBL to post a highly competitive total of 178. Yasir Hameed stroked three fours and three sixes for his well-made 61 off 46 balls. Shahid Yousuf scored 44 off just 25 balls, which also included a six off the very last ball of the innings.


United Bank Limited Innings


United Bank Limited (UBL) surprised everyone with their incredible start to the run chase. They played half of the innings with ease, losing no wickets. Abid Ali and Ahsan Ali put on 81 for the opening wicket, but sadly it was the only notable stand in the innings. ZTBL managed to run through the batting lineup as Junaid Zia grabbed a five-for. UBL's first wicket of fell in the 13th over when Junaid Zia dismissed Abid Ali for 35. 

Ahsan Ali was the top-scorer in UBL’s innings, with 43. Six of the UBL batsmen failed to reach double figures. UBL managed to bat out 20 overs, but fell well short of the required target as they fell 36 runs short of their target.


Match Summary


Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited marched into the final without stiff competition. Sharjeel Khan, Yasir Hameed, Shahid Yousuf and Junaid Zia were the key performers for them in the semi-final. 

Imran Nazir’s men will be geared up to show their mettle for one last time against the star-studded Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited.
