Former Pakistan T20I captain, Mohammad Hafeez has embarked on an ambitious project which aims to provide basic coaching and technical skills to young cricketers in Sargodha in Pakistan.

The veteran of over 230 International matches (Tests/ODIs/T20Is), described this initiative as a way of repaying the trust and support he has received from his native town and also hinted at rolling this out for the rest of the country at a future date stating that "I have started this initiative in my native city Sargodha and I will try to expand it to the whole country at a later point."

With a wealth of personal experience at his disposal, Hafeez is also utilizing services of some professionals to get the best our of this opportunity to help young and some seasoned cricketers as he explained in detail.

"I am not coaching them. For that purpose, we have professional coaches which are working with young talented club players in Sargodha. They are being given professional guidance in all aspects of cricket and being provided training, fielding and skills sessions."

Hafeez added "All in all, there are 6 coaches involved in working with the youngsters. I am sharing my experience with the young cricketers and I have organised this project. It's my vision and I have also financed it. At the end all players will get proper kit bags with appropriate gears. This will encourage them to play cricket."

"In terms of the participants in this project, we are aiming to focus on the 16-25 age group. Although, we also want to select 4 players who are under 16 to encourage younger players and 3 players who are over 25 as they were 1st class players before and may need help"
