Pakistan A werent happy with the standard of umpiring during the A tour of Australia

The last time a Pakistan team toured Australia, it's coach Bob Woolmer said that out of 29 doubtful decisions made on the tour, 26 went in favour of Australia. Shortly after that Mark Richardson of New Zealand echoed Woolmer's indignation claiming that New Zealand were also victims of the Australians expert manipulation of the umpires.

Now nearly half a decade on another Pakistani team touring Australia feels hard done by. Pakistan A felt that the umpiring during the 4 day games was so blatantly partial to the home side that they put in a formal complaint.

As a result both the match referee and one of the umpires were changed for the limited overs games. However it made no difference as Pakistan A felt that the new duo were no less partial than the ones that they replaced.

During the tour the Aussies managed to get 6 lbw decisions in their favour whilst Pakistan A only got two and both went to off spinner Mohammad Hafeez. There was particular bad feeling about Azhar Ali dismissed caught off his elbow and Umar Akmals dismissal in the second four day game.

Whilst Pakistan A aren't contending that they'd have won the close games on this tour with more balanced umpiring, they do feel that the standard of umpiring didn't help either.

However they are looking forward to their next A tour of Sri Lanka which begins at the start of August and for which a camp will take place from the 25th of July.
