Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net Pakstani batsman Yasir Hameed feels that stylish young batsman Umar Akmal could break his record of reaching 1000 one day runs in less than 24 innings.

"He's a very talented and stylish batsman" stated Yasir who is in the UK at the moment playing League cricket. "It took me 24 innings to reach 1000 one day runs which is the fastest for Pakistan, but I feel that Umar has the potential to break that record".

Yasir who himself is looking forward to the coming domestic season and to re-establish himself in the Pakistan team continued "Umar has all the attributes to become an important part of the Pakistan middle order and he already has 192 runs in only 4 innings, so he has every chance of beating my record".

Behind Yasir Hameed in this regard is Zaheer Abbass who achieved 1000 one day runs in 26 innings and following Zaheer is Mohammad Yousuf who achieved the feat in 27 innings.

The overall record is held by legendary West Indian batsman Viv Richards who hit 1000 runs in only 21 innings.
