Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net Pakistan medium fast bowler Mohammad Asif stated that he had learnt his lessons of the past.

"There will be no mistakes this time around" said Asif. "I am extremely happy and grateful that I am back in the Pakistan team and I want to work hard and justify the decision by the selectors".

Asif who has had a roller coaster career so far with Pakistan has shown glimpses of the immense talent he possesses, but along with some great cricketing performances he has been dogged by an elbow injury, together with a ban when he tested positive for a banned steroid.

Following this in June 2008, he was detained at Dubai airport allegedly for possessing a recreational drug. He was eventually released after 19 days.
The doping issue continued to haunt him when he tested positive for nandrolone during the IPL, for which a drugs tribunal banned him for a year.

Asif who has managed to only appear for Pakistan in 51 matches added that "I want to concentrate on my cricket and repay all the people that have helped me to get fit and back on track. Its an honour to be back playing for my country and I want to make it count this time around".

Asif continued "I dont want to let anyone down, especially myself and the fans and I will do my utmost to help Pakistan perform well in South Africa".
