Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif stated that he will be working with Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Asif ahead of the training camp scheduled to start later this week.

"I'll be meeting Asif tomorrow in Karachi ahead of the training camp which is due to start on 12th September" stated Rashid.

Rashid who has been working with Asif of late at the Under 23 training camp added "Its more to prepare him mentally ahead of the Champions Trophy, rather than any specific technical work. Asif's obviously not played any international cricket for a while, so its important that he's mentally ready for international cricket. If he's mentally prepared, then the rest will follow".

When asked which players had impressed him at the Under 23 training camp that he was in charge of recently, Rashid stated "its difficult and unfair to single any players out for special praise as everyone worked really hard. All the boys gave 100% effort and I hope that they can take away some of the work we did with them and use it to improve their own game both in terms of the mental and technical aspects of cricket.

Rashid also added "I wont be part of the pre Champions Trophy coaching of the senior team, as Inthikab Alam and Mauthasham Rashid will take charge of that camp".
