Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net, the chief operating officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board Wasim Bari was full of praise for Pakistan skipper Younis Khan.

"Younis has been very impressive and is leading from the front. He has a hairline fracture and others may not have played with that injury, but he deserves praise for the way he is leading the team. Younis has brought a certain togetherness to the squad and has brought the team together. The squad has gelled very well under Younis' leadership", stated Bari.

Bari who has held a number of posts in recent times with the Pakistan Cricket Board added "the boys have been very impressive so far in the Champions Trophy tournament, but I would urge caution and focus, as Pakistan still has a very tough match against the Australians who are a strong team. In one day cricket, anything is possible, lets wait and see what happens, but I hope for the best".

In response to a question regarding only one recognised opener being sent to South Africa, Bari stated "a lot of teams are opening the batting with non regular openers these days. For example, Shane Watson for Australia, so I have no problems with Imran Nazir being the only regular opener in the squad".

When asked about the performances of Saeed Ajmal, Bari added "Saeed is a very talented cricketer and someone who has the ability to perform under pressure. He is a smart cricketer and one of the best cricketers for playing well under pressure, as he displayed in the match against India".
