Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net from Rawalpindi, KRL skipper Mohammad Wasim confirmed that the Rawalpindi express is once again being derailed.

“Shoaib was supposed to be present at the ongoing 3 day training camp that KRL are holding, but we haven’t seen him here or heard from him at all. The camp started 2 days ago and we expected all of our squad to be at the camp. However today I have heard that Shoaib will be going to England for an operation on his knee”.

Its yet another injury setback for Shoaib in a career that has had a lot of stops and starts. Shoaib was looking to hit some form for KRL in the Quaid e Azam Trophy which commences on 10th October, ahead of a busy international calendar for Pakistan, but it would now appear that his hopes of an international comeback have been delayed.

Wasim added “It’s a long standing injury that he has been carrying for a while and I have no idea how long he will be out for. I believe the operation will be carried out in England on 8th October. Lets hope its not too serious and he can start playing soon”.
