Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net from Karachi, former Pakistan skipper and wicketkeeper and very close friend of Younus Khan's confirmed that it will be a couple of days before a decision regarding Younus' future as captain of the Pakistan team is reached.

Rashid who is widely regarded as one of Younus' close friends in the world of cricket and was largely responsible for Younus' development as a cricketer in his early days stated "I've just spoken to Younus about an hour ago and at this stage I cant disclose what was discussed. Obviously Younus spoke to me in confidence and it wouldnt be right for me to discllose what was said. However I feel that a decision will be reached after 2-3 days. As things stand Younus has made his feelings known to the PCB and the PCB will respond to him by the end of the week".

Younus earlier today handed in his resignation as captain after match fixing allegations surfaced initially from an Indian journalist and were then esclated by politician Jamshed Dust following Pakistan's defeat's to Australia and New Zealand in the Champions Trophy.

Rashid added "it would be a big blow for Pakistan cricket if Younus was no longer captain as I feel that he has really helped the team gel as a unit and we are going in the right direction under Younus' leadership".
