Speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net, former Pakistan wicketkeeper Wasim Bari stated that Younus Khan cannot expect to walk back into the role of captain after the test series in New Zealand.

"It all depends on how Yousuf and the team performs in New Zealand and of course the decision will have to be made by the selection committee coach and Board chairman as to who skippers the team in New Zealand. Of course Younus cant expect to walk back into the captain's role" stated Bari who has held a number of positions in the PCB over the years.

Bari further added "I think Younus's request for some rest is a fair enough request. He's not the first captain or player to make such a request and he wont be the last. In fact only recently Ricky Ponting made the very same request. Younus has been playing for quite some time now and the skipper is priceless to the team, so I think he desrves the rest. Younus has been struggling for form of late and the rest will do him some good. Hopefully he will come back refreshed and in good form".

Responding to a question regarding rumours of unrest and division in the camp Bari stated "When you have 16 players together for a period of time, there will always be minor differences and that is what they are in my opinion. The whole thing has been blown out of proportion by the press".

Bari when asked about whether he thought there were issues between players in the Pakistan squad said "Let me quote what Sachin Tendulkar once said, what goes on in the dressing room should stay in the dressing room. Now is not the right time to discuss such issues as the team is about to play a very important series in New Zealand. Once the series is over, then discussions will take place and I'm sure any minor issues can be resolved".
