Speaking to PakPassion.net,  sources close to the Pakistan team have stated that the test series in New Zealand could be Intikhab Alam's last as coach of the Pakistan team.

"Inti's position is under immense pressure due to some dismal performances in Sri Lanka and Abu Dhabi especially from the batsman and 2 former Pakistan players are being lined up as an alternative to Intikhab", we were told.

The source stated that "The Board is not satisfied with the performances of the batting line up and the coach is being held responsible for the poor displays from the majority of the batsmen. It could be time for a change and a younger coach to be installed in time for the Australia series".

"Inti's role is being scrutinised very closely and it seems that he will get the axe after the New Zealand series, unless the team performs exceptionally well".

Inti was of course coach for the 1992 and 2009 World Cup victories, but the performance of the batsmen in recent times has raised a lot of eyebrows amongst those following Pakistan cricket.
